We have all seen how women are portrayed in the media as either thick or skinny, fitspo or thinspo, “real” or “high-fashion”. Frankly, I’m sick of it just as much as I’m sure you are. The All Woman Project is about helping all women to realize their beauty and to build confidence in themselves as women, no matter the what jean size they wear or what ethnicity they have been labeled as.
“The All Woman Project illuminates the idea that all women are more similar than we’re made out to think. We all have physical flaws and imperfections, and that does not make us more or less beautiful. Rather than retouching or shying away from them, we should embrace them.”
So embrace your CURVES, love your FRECKLES, and own your STRETCH MARKS. I myself have struggled with this in the past and I have to say that seeing more and more women posting unretouched pictures and owning who they are inside and out are the ones that made me feel like it was also okay for me to be exactly who and what I am. I am hoping that this amazing movement will do the same for any young or old, thick or thin, “real” or “high-fashion” woman (OR MAN) that is still questioning if they is beautiful. BECAUSE YOU ARE.
The movement is led by models Clementine Desseaux and Charli Howard. Some models involved in the movement have retired, while others are still in the industry, such as Iskra Lawrence, who can be seen in Aerie Real campaigns.
